Hey Ulna community,
Cole here - Creativity thrives on momentum and discipline. Whether it’s painting, or drawing, collage, sculpture, ceramics when you’re in the habit of showing up consistently creating becomes second nature. But staying psyched about it? That’s where energy of a community comes in.
There’s something about being around someone who is…doing the work that makes you want to push yourself, too. It’s easy to hesitate and not start. But when you have a studiomate, peer, or friend who shows up almost every day, sets up their paints and easel, you are almost forced or challenged to do the same. Just be in it because there’s wild stuff that happens you without planning. I love that. Trying to make something great…forget about it. Just play, play and play some more.
Even on days when motivation is low, just walking into the studio and seeing someone deep in the process pushes you forward. Maybe you just watch, or look at your own paintings, notice the colors or shapes you painted the day before. Then you start, and the energy feeds off itself.
Find those people who aren’t waiting to be inspired. They just show up. And they can inspire you to show up, too. Appreciation to all our friends and community who inspire us every day! Thanks for lighting a fire in our creative hearts!
